Devotional Page Redesigned to Serve as Gospel Resource

The BYU–Hawaii Devotional web page recently received a major facelift, both in form and function in preparation for the 2011 school year. The new site became active over the break for the holidays, and has many new features to enhance its functionality as a resource for lessons, talks, and gospel study.

Upon visiting the home page for Devotionals and Speeches, anyone who has been there before will first notice that it is more aesthetically pleasing than before, with a more engaging graphical interface. But, it is not just a pretty picture. All of the elements included on the page are functional and laid out in a way that is much more user-friendly, allowing visitors to find all devotional related content quickly and easily.

A prominent aspect of the new page is the search bar, which accesses the devotional archive that dates back to 1984. Anyone interested in finding information on a gospel subject to augment their gospel study, or to supplement an upcoming lesson or talk, can do so by searching the archives for talks given on the BYU–Hawaii campus.

Hand picked devotionals from notable speakers are featured on the page periodically, with inspirational quotes illustrated with pictures and videos available for viewing. The hope of all the changes is that students, faculty, and friends of the university will be able to add the BYU–Hawaii Devotional page to their personal gospel library, and use it as a spiritual resource.
