Office of IT Welcomes Seasoned Technology Leader

BYU–Hawaii welcomes David Te’o as the new Director of Information Technology Infrastructure. Te’o, a native of Laie, most recently worked within the R&K Cyber Solutions’ Defense Intelligence Agency and previously as a systems administrator with numerous facilities on the island. These positions have given him over a decade of IT work experience as well as invaluable skills, training, and credentials in information systems management.

“We are excited to have David on our team,” says Kevin Schlag, BYU–Hawaii’s university technology officer. “His experience in the industry will be a great asset for us moving forward."

Since Te’o is an alumnus of BYU–Hawaii’s Computer and Information Science program, the university is excited to have him back. With his expertise in problem solving and experience in working with many different systems, Te’o will bring a new level of understanding, growth, and development to BYU–Hawaii’s IT team.

“I am excited to be a part of the BYU–Hawaii community again and look forward to helping prepare BYU–Hawaii students in any way for a future in IT,” stated Te’o. “I am also looking forward to building and supporting a strong Infrastructure department for the entire campus community.”

Te’o is married to Kelli Anderson, and they have six children.
