As part of their “Fans Rule” tour, the Harlem Globetrotters will be visiting the islands of Hawaii, and their final stop will be at BYU–Hawaii’s Cannon Activities Center. Their event will be on Monday, April 28, at 7 PM. Doors open at 6 PM.

This world-famous exhibition basketball team has been entertaining fans all globally since 1927, playing more than 20,000 games in over 120 countries and adopting the international goal to break down cultural barriers through a love of sports. This year, the team has visited not only the island of Oahu but also Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii.

Barry Hardy, an eight-year coach for the Globetrotters, is an alumnus of BYU–Hawaii and played four years for the Seasiders from 1988-1992. He graduated with a degree in Business Management in 1992. Hardy then played six seasons with the Globetrotters and eventually became a coach for the team. Nicknamed Barry “Hi Rise” Hardy, he was a three-time slam-dunk champion and dazzled crowds around the world with his high-flying athleticism.

An interesting twist to their world “Fans Rule” tour involves allowing the fans to vote on an additional basketball rule that will be added to the game that may change its outcome. For example, fans can choose to have one team play with six players, for the teams to play with two basketballs instead of one, and more. To vote, visit HarlemGlobetrotters.com/Rule.

General admission tickets and a limited number of courtside seats are available at HarlemGlobetrotters.com/Hawaii.
