Paying it Forward: Students Choose to Give Back

March 24-30, 2014, is Choose 2 Give Week at BYU–Hawaii. The week will feature a series of events and activities that teach the concept and principles of giving – regardless of the amount – to support fellow students at BYU–Hawaii.

Booths sponsored by the BYU–Hawaii Student Association (BYUHSA) will be placed around campus where students can make donations throughout the week – in front of the Heber J. Grant Building, the Library, and the Counseling Services office (outside of The Club). All money donated will be used to support student scholarships at BYU–Hawaii, and no donation is too small.

Each day has a different theme and activity:

Monday, March 24 – Choose 2 Laugh, Heber J. Grant Building (HGB) 113, 5-7 PM
Enjoy a show from The Seaside Jesters Comedy Club on campus.

Tuesday, March 25 – Choose 2 Glow, Aloha Center Ballroom, 9:00-11:45 PM
Attend a dance with glow sticks.

Wednesday, March 26 – Prince Kuhio Day, no classes

Thursday, March 27 – Choose 2 Serve, booths at the HGB, the Library, and The Club/Counseling Services, 11 AM-2 PM
Express gratitude and write a thank-you letter to donors of the university at one of the three booth locations.

Friday and Saturday, March 28-29 – Choose 2 Celebrate, CAC, Friday - 10:30 PM, Saturday - 8:30 PM
Celebrate diverse cultures represented on campus with the annual two-day Culture Night event. There will be a booth in front of the CAC collecting donations for the Choose 2 Give initiative.

Sunday, March 30 - Choose 2 Reflect, HGB 275, 7:30 PM
Reflect on a week of giving through a fireside dedicated to gratitude. Feel the spirit of giving, and hear the results from the Choose 2 Give initiative.
