New Vice President of Construction and Facilities Appointed

The BYU-Hawaii Board of Trustees has appointed Eric W. Conrad as Vice President of Construction and Facilities at BYU-Hawaii. President John S. Tanner made the announcement at a department staff meeting on February 14, 2017. This new position will work closely with the Special Projects Department (SPD) for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

President Tanner stated that in the coming years "BYU-Hawaii will see major growth in its campus facilities. The university has received approval for several new construction projects, as well as funding for continued remodeling work as part of the university’s long-term master plan. We are excited to be working together and look forward to the improvements that will come as a result of this historic partnership.”

Conrad has a diversified background in construction, facilities, and operations management, having held senior management positions at two Fortune 500 companies and as a senior manager at one of the nation’s largest private universities. He has managed operating budgets as large as $840 million and real estate portfolios valued over $4 Billion. Prior to his appointment at BYU-Hawaii, Conrad was the Managing Director of University Services at BYU-Idaho, overseeing customer facing business units and auxiliaries.

Conrad earned his bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management from BYU-Provo and a master’s degree in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University. He and his wife Kami are the parents of seven children.
